Article 2: Of GodI. We believe that the LORD our God, whose name is JEHOVAH, is one God, eternally existing in three distinct and harmonious persons. These are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These are not three Gods, but one expressed as a Trinity. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are in perfect unity with one another in all things. The eternal relationship within the Godhead is the supreme display of infinite love, wisdom, submission, and respect. Although there is authority exercised within the Godhead, all three persons are co-equal and co-eternal, none greater than the others. We acknowledge that the Biblical doctrine of the Trinitarian nature of God surpasses man's understanding; however, it is to be taught and cherished as the very truth of God on the grounds that it is clearly declared in the Scriptures.

II. We believe that the Father proceeds from none and is begotten of none, neither is created. He is the origin and source of all things. God the Son is eternally begotten of the Father, and was not created. He is the express image of the Father. God the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son, and was not created. All three persons of the Trinity are fully God.

III. We believe that the attributes of God are clearly set forth in scripture. We cannot fully comprehend Him, but He has been pleased to reveal to us a glimpse of who He is in His Word. God says, "I am God, and there is none like me." He made the world and all that is in it. He is Lord of heaven and earth. He is a Spirit, and He does not dwell in temples made with hands. He is not worshipped with men's hands, as though He needed anything. He gives to all life, and breath, and all things. Every creature waits upon Him for their food. He is the one that takes their breath and they die. He holds all things together by the word of His power. There is nothing too hard for Him. By Him all things consist, and in Him live, move, and have their being. He says, "I am the LORD, I change not." From everlasting to everlasting, He is God. His eyes are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. There is nothing that He does not see, all things are naked and opened to Him. He is perfect in knowledge. He is a God at hand and a far off, and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him. He is glorious in holiness and there is none holy as the LORD. He is gracious and full of compassion. He is merciful, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth. He is good and does good. His work is perfect and He is without iniquity. He is just and right. He does whatever He pleases. His ways are higher than our ways and past finding out! He is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works. He is a jealous God, and His anger is overwhelming. He Sovereignly reigns in the heavens, sitting on the throne of His holiness. He is worthy to receive all glory, honor, and worship because He created all things for His pleasure.
